
Pastor Hyoik Kim has devoted his life to God in worship and desires to be used to motivate, inspire, and arouse the Body of Christ to worship God in Spirit and in Truth. He earned a B.A. in Theology and a B.M. in Church Music from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. He moved to the United States and continued his journey in church music as he received a Master of Music in Music Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. Then, he had the call to pastoral ministry and received an M.Div. from Drew Theological Seminary, Madison, NJ. He was ordained as an elder in 2011. Since then, he has been proud to be a Methodist minister, visioning a heart-warming ministry. He has faithfully served Tranquility / Johnsonburg UMC, Arcola Korean UMC, Christ / First UMC, and Christ First UMC in Hasbrouck Heights. He plays piano and guitar and loves to play golf and tennis. He is married to Ruthie (Hyunsook). They are blessed by their two children, Grace and Wesley, whom he always thinks their names are the perfect names for a Methodist pastor’s kids.
